bio
Donna Goes is a mixed media artist whose current artistic expression uses common plastic bags destined for landfill. The artfully transformed bags become richly layered abstracts, undergoing metamorphosis by fire (well almost; they are melted with an iron between sheets of parchment paper). The newly formed compound is cut, fused by heat again and again until the final image emerges. The unpredictable process results in an amalgamation of vibrant color, layered texture, and visual story.
A collector by nature, found objects often make their way into her art.
“I have a passion for surface design, collage, painting, mixed media, collage and a driving desire to constantly try new things.”
She currently resides in Hull, MA. and shares her lovingly restored home and studio with her husband Paul.
